Day Tour to Kalabsha Temple and Nubian Museum from Aswan

The village of Kalabsha is located 60 km south of the Aswan Dam. Although the temple goes back to the Roman era, some historians believe that it dates back to the 18th dynasty and was built by king Thotmosis III and Amenhotep II. The temple also is known as the temple of Mandulis, referring to the sun god of Lower Nubia. After building the dam, the temple was relocated to another site to protect it from the dangers of rising water. It is one of the largest freestanding temples of Nubia. Your guide will explain all the history of the temple with its different courts and reliefs.

After you visit the temple, your next stop will be at the Nubian Museum. This Museum was opened in 1997 and its architecture and design were derived from the surrounding nature of Aswan and Nubia. Nubia Museum, which hosts 3000 monumental pieces several times, contains many artifacts of different materials and mummies. The monuments of the museum are excellent examples of reflecting the land of Nubia over history. As usual, your guide will show you the highlights of the museum, and then you will have free time to look around freely.
