Cairo International Airport
Welcome to the start of your Egyptian Adventure! Arrive Cairo airport, included onward transfer to your hotel and overnight.
This morning we visit the great pyramids and Sphinx at Giza Plateau. Sole survivors of the ancient Greek-listed Seven Wonders of the World, they were constructed from over 2.5million limestone blocks, taking more than 20 years to build. We explore this area on foot and then on camel back! Off we ride into the sands, our sturdy ships of the desert beneath us.
Overnight: Cairo | Breakfast
Cairo – Aswan. Today we see the treasures of King Tutankhamun, mummies and more at the Egyptian Museum. In the afternoon, we explore the Citadel and the bustling Khan el-Khalili bazaar before taking the comfortable overnight sleeper train to Aswan including dinner.
Overnight: Sleeper Train | Breakfast, Dinner
This morning we arrive into Aswan and explore the Nubian city on a guided walk of the local market and souq. Scenically located on the Nile, a walk along the riverside corniche to view the many boats is a real treat, as is Aswan bazaar. Free afternoon.
Overnight: Aswan | Breakfast
Free morning or optional tour for the morning excursion by flight to Abu Simbel. The remainder of the afternoon at leisure; maybe relax by the pool, take a stroll along the Nile corniche or explore the ever lively market place.

Aswan – Luxor. This morning we take a motor boat to cruise around and between the islands located on the Nile, before stopping at Sahal island where we visit a local village and school (if open); sometimes there is even a local football game in action. Lunch will be served in the home of an Egyptian family followed by the train north to Luxor, one of the world’s greatest open-air museums. The 4000-year-old site of ancient Thebes, known today as Luxor, is our base for the next three days.
Overnight: Luxor | Breakfast, Lunch
This morning you have the option to go hot air ballooning before we visit Karnak Temple. More than a temple, Karnak is a spectacular complex of sanctuaries, pylons, statuettes and obelisks. Built on a grand scale, Karnak is probably Egypt’s finest ancient temple. Free afternoon or wander along Luxor’s historic waterfront. This evening, we travel in horse-drawn carriages to the illuminated Temple of Luxor where we enjoy a tour in the cool evening air.
Overnight: Luxor | Breakfast
Today, we visit Luxor’s West Bank. The subject of countless documentaries, our destination this morning is the site made famous by the discovery of King Tutankhamen’s tomb – the Valley of the Kings. Other exciting highlights of ancient Egypt include the imposing colonnaded temple of Queen Hatshepsut and the gigantic Colossi of Memnon.

Why not pack your bathing suits, sun lotions and sunglasses and opt for a boat excursion on the Red Sea. Dropping the anchor at a location renowned for its safe snorkeling and swimming possibilities, you can opt to don mask, snorkel and fins for a great view of the colorful shoals of fish in the aquatic wonderland that is the Red Sea. After a day of swimming, snorkeling, sun tanning or relaxing, you will have no doubt worked up a healthy appetite – dinner is served up at the hotel.

If Egypt is on your bucket list for travel I highly recommend our tour company Your Egypt Tours. With four of my dearest friends, we traveled to all these places on our 13 day trip of a lifetime. The Trip Advisor rating for Your Egypt Tours is accurate and you can trust you'll get great service before and throughout your trip. Your first contact at the company will be Mona Hamdy. Mona is both attentive to detail, listens to your wishes, provides great recommendations and is willing to modify any itinerary to suit your special requests. We developed our own itinerary with Mona's help.
Mona can arrange your pick up at the airport which includes someone walking you through the customs process and assisting you to your transportation from the airport to the hotel. Once in the van, your driver negotiates the traffic smoothly and the person who got you through customs and baggage provides a small briefing and orientation. Your Egypt Tours is focused on safety throughout the trip--guiding you through crowds at venues or through the streets as well as making recommendations of places to eat where food is well prepared--following their advice none of us had any gastric upset or distress on this trip.
Our guides, Mamdouah and Sayed are fabulous--flawless English and both had a wealth of knowledge they willingly shared and patiently answered all of our questions. Mamdouah was our guide in Cairo--I'd ask Mona to reserve him for your trip--so knowledgeable, kind, patient and a wealth of knowledge. Sayed was our guide throughout the rest of the trip again--knowledge, kind, and patient. These guides and your drivers handle all the details so you can really enjoy your dream trip!
We felt totally safe and well taken care of throughout the trip. Cairo is a very large city so, on your free time away from the tour, of course be vigilant, aware of your surroundings as you would in any of our big cities anywhere around the world. If you have an idea of something you'd like to do on your free time outside your tour, just ask Mona, Mamdouah and Sayed--they'll provide great advice on that as well.
Going to Egypt had been on my bucket list for travel for years---it was fabulous! Five good friends and great travel buddies had the greatest trip--thanks in large part to the great customer service, expertise and support of Your Egypt tours. If you'd like to ask questions about the sites or Your Egypt Tours I'd be happy to share! Get busy and book your trip!
My wife and I traveled with a group of 9 people, 6 of whom we knew before the trip. The service provided was top notch and made everything easy. The Art, both in the Museum and at the sites in Giza, Aswan, Abu Simbal ,and Luxor was the high point for me. Truly amazing! Our guides, Mandouh and Ashraf were like human encyclopedias of Egyptology and wonderful people to be around as well. The Nile cruise portion was a nice change of pace and the crew went "over the top" to make us comfortable and the trip enjoyable. If we were to do it again, we would take a day away from Cairo and skip Alexandria and do the overnight camping in the desert. Probably not for everyone but we are seasoned campers and would have enjoyed viewing the night sky in the desert

Unforgettable two- weeklong trip in Egypt
Our entire 13-day experience from our first communication with Your Egypt Tours to our final goodbye at the Cairo airport was first class. I could not recommend this company more. My husband and I do not often do a full guided vacation; we are travelers that are more independent. However, we decided that for Egypt, we wanted to have a guide to get more out of the country and we were so happy that we signed on with Your Egypt Tours. They were also great at making sure we had plenty of water to drink.
Mona who handled the pre-booking and answered all questions prior to arrival was great and had very quick and thorough responses to all questions and inquiries. We pretty much laid out what we wanted to see while in the country and she helped fine tune everything and suggested a couple additional sights. In addition, a special thanks to Ali who we talked to on the phone a couple times on the we were supposed to head to Luxor and the road was closed. He was very helpful and great at communicating what the company was working on as a backup plan.
Mohammed who met us at the Cairo airport a couple different times (our international arrival in Cairo, departing Cairo for Hurghada, and arriving back in Cairo and departing for our flight home) was incredibly helpful. He helped us breeze through immigration on arrival and helped check us into our departing flights. He gave a nice overview of Cairo and Egypt on our way from the airport to our hotel in Cairo also. He was a great introduction to the company and the country. We had a slight problem with our departing International flight and he was helpful and great in reassuring us that everything would be fine (and it was).
Our Egyptologist guide in Cairo was Mamdouh and he was excellent. His wealth of knowledge about the pyramids, history, hieroglyphics, religion and more is impressive. He suggested great places for lunch that did not seem like the normal tourist trap restaurants that large group tours go to which we really appreciated.
Our Egyptologist guide in Luxor, Aswan, and the trip to Abu Simbel was Omar and he was excellent. His passion for his country and the multiple impressive sights we visited is extremely evident, he did a great job explaining the sights, and symbols to then allowing us free time to explore at each site. We really enjoyed our time with Omar and appreciated the little extra like when he offered to stop and buy some local fruit and falafel for us.
In the end, I do not have really anything negative to say about the company. The whole trip was handled professionally and provided us great Egyptologists and drivers. I highly recommend requesting both Mamdouh for Cairo and Omar for the Luxor/Aswan areas. If you are unsure about wanting guides for Egypt, I can only say that we got so much more out of the sights having someone guide us with such in-depth knowledge.
